2022 VASANOC AGM


The 2022 VASANOC AGM took place last Friday 27th of May at the VASANOC Haos. 13 federations were represented with the board members.


The federations represented were: Archery, Cricket, Cycling, Golf, Judo, Squash, Surf, Table tennis, Tennis, Volleyball.

Women in Sports Commission.

The President Antoine Boudier started the meeting by thanking those present and explaining the course of the meeting. The members then agreed on the approval of the voting rights and the quorum of the Federations.


Then everyone approved the 2021 AGM minutes. The annual report was presented and highlighted the challenges and activities that was done by VASANOC and NFs. Everyone agreed on the fact that international competitions were challenging due to the travel’s restrictions. Only the Beach volleyball team on went on the Olympic preparation qualification preparation event in Thailand and the Team Tokyo who travelled for the Olympics in July.


It didn’t prevent the expansion of sport on a national scale and that is what federations did by running development program, school program and gender equality programs.


Then the person present approved the 2021 Financial Report of VASANOC that was presented by Mark Stafford.


After that, an update on this year Games was made. With two Games within two-month, Team Vanuatu will have a busy 2022 year and a lot of young athletes will travel overseas to train and attend these competitions. Some of them will compete for the first time on an international stage.


Some National Federations raised the difficulty to train after the COVID-19 entered in Vanuatu and are now working on solution to adapt and provide the best preparation for the athletes.


Finally, everyone present said a few words and CEO James Malau introduced the new Sport Development Officer who will work for VASANOC from July 2022.
