Tokyo 2021 Press Conference

This happened today in the conference room of VASANOC, the Olympic delegation was introduced to the public.

Among them are the three athletes who will compete during this Olympiad:

• Rillio « Rio » Rii, Open water rowing and flag bearer at the opening ceremony

• Hugo Cumbo, Judoka category -81kg

• Yoshua Shing, single table tennis player

Williams Worworkon will be Chef de Mission for this edition, he will be supported by David Lolo, the Team manager. Finally coaches Andrew Mckenzie (rowing) and Joe Mahit (judo) will accompany this delegation.

During the press conference hosted by CEO James Malau we were able to count on the honorable presence of Japanese Ambassador Chiba Hirohisa who encouraged the athletes.

Rillio Rio Rii flag bearer & Antoine Boudier - @VASANOC

VASANOC President Antoine Boudier had the honor to give the Vanuatu flag to the flag bearer of the delegation, Rillio Rio Rii. Indeed, in view of his sporting performances, Rio was chosen to carry the colors of Vanuatu during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. He will be the first rower to do this.
